With the 2017-18 school year well underway, the Foundation has already made great strides in its commitment to promote excellence, innovation, and creativity in education for Midland Park students. I’m honored to lead the MPPEF as we continue our worthy mission. There are many exciting events on the horizon and our dedicated trustees are working hard to ensure this is our best year ever. I would like to thank the teachers, administrators, and the community of volunteers and sponsors for helping us accomplish our goals. Because of your effort, our students will benefit from a host of multi-disciplinary enrichment programs throughout the school year. The next few months bring even more opportunities to do great things for our kids. We’re getting ready to announce our Fall grant recipients and are preparing for our biggest fundraiser of the year. This year’s theme: Seaside Soiree featuring “The Nerds”! Be sure to visit our website http://mppef.org/ for updated information about the event and all other foundation related news.

MP Runs Together for Education

4th Annual 5K Run, Walk, Kids Fun Run

4th Annual 5K Run/Walk/Kids Fun RunA community that runs together stays together! On Saturday, September 16th the MPPEF hosted their annual 5K race and close to 400 participants came out to run for education. The event kicked off at 9:00 am sharp and was followed by a 1-mile walk and Kids’ fun run. Runners were encouraged along the challenging course with support from residents lined up in front of houses and gathered near the finish line. Midland Park’s mayor, Harry Shortway, served as Grand Marshal and stood among the crowd cheering the runners on. As always, we are grateful to the committed and generous families and businesses that supported the event in the form of sponsorship, donations, and service. Together our efforts raised over $20,000! Thank you to each and every one of you for making this day such a great success!

Chromebook Carts, Scholarships, and so much more!

Spring 2017 was a busy season for the MPPEF. In March we held our signature fundraising event: The Black and White Bash featuring the Nerds. The money raised enabled the organization to present a check to the Midland Park Board of Education for $25,000 to be used to purchase Chromebook carts for the 3rd and 4th-grade students. The foundation also awarded scholarships to two well-deserving students, Isabelle Fiore and Stephanie Sharo, for their outstanding leadership qualities and exceptional community service.
